1. Submit an official high school transcript. Submit high school transcript to the school address below.
2. Provide a copy of your immunization record email this to Admissions@shortercollege.edu.
3. Submit your test scores (ACT, SAT, Compass, or Accuplacer). The Accuplacer test can be taken online or in person by calling 501-374-6305, Extension 229.
4. Submit official college transcripts if you wish to transfer credits from previous institutions.
5. Complete your FAFSA for current award year, and if applicable complete entrance counseling and MPN, at studentaid.gov (Shorter College’s school code is 001105).
6. Apply for the Parent Plus Loan : If a dependent student, as determined by the FAFSA plans to reside in on campus housing AND enrolled at least half-time, parents need to apply for the Parent PLUS loan to help cover the cost of attendance. Application for the Parent PLUS for Undergraduate students must be completed online at www.studentaid.gov by the biological or adoptive parent. If credit is denied and the credit decision is not appealed or an endorser is not obtained, the dependent student may apply for up to an additional $4000 Unsubsidized loan funds. To apply students should complete the Additional Unsubsidized Loan Request Due to Parent PLUS Denial form available in the financial aid office.
All high school transcripts must be submitted in a physical copy enclosed within a sealed envelope. Alternatively, transcripts may be sent electronically, but exclusively through approved services such as National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, or Scribbles. Transcripts not originating from an approved service will not be considered official and cannot be accepted.
If you have obtained a GED, you can request your GED transcript through the following link: GED Record Request Online Form – AR Division of Workforce Services (arkansas.gov) . When completing the transcript request, select “Third Party” for record release information, and specify the school’s name. The transcript type should be marked as digital and provide the designated email address: admissions@shortercollege.edu.
