Career Services serves to help find the students a career and job that suits their needs and abilities and build community partnerships to achieve that goal. This is accomplished by working with each student individually on a Career Pathway Plan, building their resume, and preparing the students for interviews and internships.
The Career Services department acts as a liaison between employers and students, working to achieve the goals for both. The success of our students cannot be accomplished without the support of the community. By working with the Shorter College Career Services department, employers could be provided with quality students for internships and employment.
We are working towards building internships with local employers in the areas of our Reimagine Workforce Grant certification programs: Accounting Software, Apple (Swift) Coding Certificate, Entrepreneurship/Small Business Management Certificate, Human Resources Certificate, IBM Badges; Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, Data Science, Enterprise Design Thinking, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, QUANTUM COMPUTING, Microsoft Office Specialist Certification, and Wine Certification.
Also, we are looking to build partners in employment and internships in our Associate’s Degree Programs: Criminal Justice, Entrepreneurial Studies, Christian Leadership, Early Childhood Development, Computer Science, and General Studies.
