Shorter College steps into its third season of its revived Basketball Programs for the 2024-2025 season in Region 2 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), the governing association of community college, state college, and junior college athletics throughout the United States. There are 21 schools in our region, covering Arkansas and Oklahoma, playing various sports. Jenone Bell will lead her retooled Lady Bulldogs as last season’s conference Runner-up, while Andre Williams is set to coach the reloaded Bulldog Men with sights on a championship run of their own at the end of the season. Shorter College is a private, historically black, liberal arts junior college in North Little Rock, Arkansas. It is the only private historically black junior college in the United States. Shorter College was founded in 1886 as Bethel University by the Twelfth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church.
