Our Adult Education Services at Shorter College provide a comprehensive suite of programs designed to empower individuals at various stages of their educational and career journeys. We offer G.E.D.® Preparation to help students earn their high school equivalency diplomas and Employability and Workforce Skills training to enhance job readiness. For non-native English speakers, our English as a Second Language (ESL) courses facilitate language proficiency. Basic Skills Improvement and College Prep programs ensure foundational academic skills and readiness for higher education. Our Refresher Courses aid those looking to update their knowledge in specific areas, while Distance Education Classes offer the flexibility of online learning. Additionally, our Workforce Alliance for Growth in the Economy (WAGE) initiative focuses on equipping students.

Shorter College is a private, faith-based, two-year liberal arts college located in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Founded in 1886 by the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Shorter College is one of the nation’s 110 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and the only private, two-year HBCU in the nation.
